Rather than teaching to a hypothetical “average” student, with UDL, teachers aim to reach ALL students, by providing support for students who need them, and extensions for students who need an extra challenge.
There are 3 main principles to UDL:
1. Provide multiple means of representation
2. Provide multiple means of action and expression
3. Provide multiple means of engagement
