Subject: Ten Best Practices on LinkedIn

As requested for assignment 2.2, below is a list of the ten best practices on LinkedIn: 

  • Have valuable content – ensure your work experience and achievements are clearly stated
  • Keep your profile professional – use professional photos and language 
  • Keep your profile active – respond to messages promptly and continuously update your profile with more descriptions and new experiences 
  • Personalize your profile – add content specific to you and 
  • Personalize recommendation requests – tailor each recommendation request and send welcome messages after connection requests are accepted 
  • Open your privacy settings – private information should not be on LinkedIn and professional  information should be public and easy to access
  • Focus on the summary – to differentiate yourself from others 
  • Join LinkedIn groups – groups can expand your social network 
  • Include visuals – use photos and videos to make your profile more attractive
