Professional Background: A recent UBC Alum, Chloe recently completed her undergraduate degree in the First Nations and Indigenous Studies Program with a minor in English Literature in May, 2015.

As an active member of UBC Vancouver’s Indigenous community, Chloe was the Vice President of the First Nations Studies Student Association, founding member and Editor-in-Chief of the FNIS-affiliated undergraduate journal, kʷθə sχəχi:l̕ss kʷθə xʷən̓aʔəlməxʷ – The First Peoples Writing Undergraduate Journal, co-organizer of the First Annual UBC Nehiyo-pasqua-itsimowan Pow-wow, and regular at the First Nations Longhouse.

Before joining the SRA team, Chloe spent close to two years working at Ray-Cam Cooperative Centre in Vancouver’s Downtown East Side as the Family Program Assistant and Family Support Worker. While she will miss getting paid to do crafts and hold cute babies, Chloe is very excited to be back at UBC working to engage with and welcome Indigenous youth to the Vancouver campus.

ChloePersonal: Chloe is Métis with Cree, Anishinaabe, Saulteaux, French, and Icelandic ancestry and grew up in a rural town of ~35 people in Northern Manitoba. She enjoys going home for hunting season in the winter and spending time with her family. In her spare time, she can be found cooking, painting, reading, or hanging at one of Vancouver’s beaches.
