With opening remarks from the Education Consul of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver, and local MLA David Eby, the main event will be a spectacular celebration of Chinese culture with performances from professional Lion Dancers, UBC students and the UBC Chinese Ensemble.  In conjunction with the main event, we will also offer Chinese cultural activities for everyone to enjoy and participate in. Activities include writing Chinese calligraphy, creating paper crafts, tying Chinese knots and wearing traditional costumes. UBC’s Asian Library will also be holding events such as the Beautiful China Photo Exhibition and Knowing 360 Jobs in Old China from Cigarette Cards.
