Soil and Worms

Microbe Hub

In 2014, I co-founded a compost start-up called the Microbe Hub. The project housed of Ryerson University’s Faculty of Science, aimed to divert organic materials from the landfill, with the intention to fuel soil biology research and educate grade school children on composting. Today Microbe Hub has over a dozen volunteers and is working on producing science education tool kits to each children about microbe biology and vermicomposting pathways. Microbe Hub was funded and supported through the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, RECODE  and Ryerson University’s Office of the Vice-Presidents, Research and Innovation.
