Science Policy Fellowships on Climate Change Adaptation with BC Ministry of Agriculture

Standard

The BC Ministry of Agriculture will be hosting two Mitacs Canadian Science Policy Fellowships on agricultural climate change adaptation in our Victoria office for 12 months starting in September 2017. The Provincial Water Infrastructure fellow will investigate policy considerations for investments in water storage infrastructure, and the Agronomic Opportunities for Resilient Agriculture fellow will investigate opportunities for crop planning to enhance sector resilience in priority areas given projected climate changes. See the full list of fellowship projects here.

For both of these positions, we are ideally looking for interdisciplinary researchers who can interface with technical staff, industry and policy development, who can self-manage, and effectively coordinate with other researchers and government initiatives.

I would appreciate it if you could share these with any potential candidates in your networks (must hold a PhD and be a permanent resident of Canada to be eligible – see eligibility criteria here).

As it isn’t indicated on the posting itself, I should also have included that the deadline is March 14th. Application details are here.

Please see the postings for additional detail (these have recently been revised from the earlier postings), and don’t hesitate to get in touch with me directly if you have any questions!

Many thanks,

Susanna
