And you have 2 chances to quiz them before the election.

The Weston Brain Institute Funding

The Weston Brain Institute has up to $10m in funding available through the 2019 programs that are currently accepting applications. A full list of programs can be found here.  In particular, please note that the deadline of the Rapid Response and Transformational Research Canada 2019 Parkinson’s & Related Diseases program has been extended. The LOI deadline is now May 15, 2019.

Several exciting changes have been made to these programs, including increasing the Rapid Response budget to $300,000 and allowing more kinds of interventions such as cognitive therapy. More information is on the website.

Help UBC Win the BC Cool Campus Challenge!

The BC Cool Campus Challenge is a friendly energy saving competition between the province’s post-secondary institutions.

Staff, faculty and students are asked to sign a one-minute online pledge to commit to energy saving actions. The school that collects the highest percentage of pledges wins.

The deadline to sign the pledge is Feb. 28, only a few days away.

Plus enter to win great prizes, including UBC sweaters, cozy Sherpa blankets, and UBC Sustainability reusable mugs.

Centre for Student Involvement and Careers

Graduate Student Career Activation Project

The CSIC wants to know how graduate students can activate their careers, and we have funds available to help you try stuff out. Dream big, or dive deep: whether it’s the cost of printing business cards to support your networking, enhancing your French language skills to prepare for a career in the federal government, or paying membership fees to join a professional association, submit a proposal for a career development experience that you believe will get you one step closer to your goals. Each student may apply for funding of any amount up to $1000.

Once you’ve activated, we’ll work with you to develop an appropriate artefact (video interview, blog, etc.) so that your experience can be shared with other UBC graduate students and the university community.
