Canadian Farm Writers Federation conference New West next week

Standard

The BC Farm Writers Assn is offering free sponsorships for students interested in farm writing for the Canadian Farm Writers Federation conference next week in New Westminster .  There are tours, and a professional development day on Sat Sept 28 with a mental health component in the morning and a session on the rural-urban divide in the afternoon, speakers include Harold Steves who was one of the originators of the ALR, Kim Grout CEO of ALC, Chris Zabek BCMAg on Right to Farm, Nova Woodbury of BC Assn of Abattoirs.

A great opportunity. I am a farm writer, but never thought of being one when I was a student at UBC.

I am on a conference call right now and no students have applied yet. UBC showed no interest. Sponsorship money is available for this but will be returned if no students attend.

I hope you can help us out and tap some students on the shoulder about it.

Best regards

Barbara Johnstone, P. Ag. (UBC Aggie 1977-1981)

Cheers,
