Paul will share the story of Simpa Networks, a leading rooftop solar leasing company he co-founded in rural India with the mission to make clean energy simple, affordable and accessible to everyone. The company launched in 2010 when there were 400 million people without access to reliable electricity in India. Simpa invented a pay-as-you-go business model, selling small scale solar solutions on a lease-to-own basis. The company financed and installed over 6MW of clean power on 50,000 rooftops in 2000 villages, creating 850+ full-time green jobs, providing clean electricity, lighting and cooling to 250,000 people in rural India.
