Does your TA position begin soon or do you want to work in Canada? You need to get a Social Insurance Number (SIN) from Service Canada before you can start working.

Service Canada will issue SINs on-campus and after-hours via in-person appointments at their office exclusively for UBC students starting next Monday, August 27th.

We strongly encourage you to reserve the first available time slot after arrival in Vancouver, particularly if you need to work at the start of term.  Appointments are limited and based on a first-come first-served basis.
