2018 GSS Student Survey Results

Since the survey closed we’ve been hard at work analyzing your responses. The first set of data relates to the availability of work spaces for graduate students. It showed that:

  • Almost one quarter of graduate student respondents said they don’t have access to a dedicated work or office space
  • Among those with office space 3 out 10 respondents did not consider the space of good quality.

You can find more detail  HERE. We’ll be publishing more information and results over the next few months.

Stick your neck out and join the GSS Debate Team

In the 2018-19 academic year the GSS will be organizing 3-4 debates on topical issues that directly affect graduate students.

You can help decide the topics and get graduate students talking by joining our Engage Debate Team now.

If you are interested in joining the graduate student team, please send an email expressing interest to aa@gss.ubc.ca by August 10th. The email should contain a short introduction to you and your reasons for wanting to join the Engage Debate Team!

Summer space for grad students at the student nest

Between July 26th and August 14th. The Loft in the AMS, which is designated as a space for graduate students will be unavailable. However, during that period the Lev Bukhman Lounge on Floor 3 of the AMS will be available as a dedicated space for graduate students to use.

On August 15th the Loft will reopen as usual.

Join the GSS
