There are 7 elective categories based on the three pillars of sustainability (Environment/Technology, Society, and Economics). Courses are currently being evaluated from UBC offerings (syllabi and learning objectives) to determine which courses should be applied to each category. The UBC Sustainability Initiative has provided an excellent place to start by identifying courses with sustainability content and designating them on how they address the three pillars. There are a number of possible ways course selection can be made. Once the evaluation is done we will have a better idea if the elective selection in the pathway should be limited to a small number or more broad.
The list of electives is currently being reviewed.
