Let me have fun today by introducing to you the amazing “Musical Potties”… 🙂 Personal Fest is a notorious music festival happening every year in Buenos Aires, Argentina since 2004. It is a great success and it gathers tens of thousands of people every year. It is organized by the mobile phone company Personal. Everyone has a wonderful time during the entire festival except when they have to go to… the bathroom. The organizers of Personal Fest understood this sad and universal reality of festivals. Amazing isn’t it? There are costs involved of course but what I really like in this entire enterprise is their will to reach “perfection”; to fulfill all and every single need of the public attending and experiencing Personal Fest. These “Musical Potties” aim at solving the ultimate problem of their public. They might be one of the little details that we will remember, amused, and that will prevent remorse and dissonance afterwards. These potties demonstrate the care of the organizers for their festivalgoers; they enhance their experience and contribute to a better relationship between the public and Personal Fest.
When looking at the factors affecting consumer behavior, the marketer distinguishes psychological factors, social factors, situational factors and the marketing mix. When going to regular bathrooms, the individual is alone in a situation far from being either fun or pleasant. All these factors mentioned above converge towards a negative experience. The actual festival, on the other hand, is a social experience with people, music and fun: it is the complete opposite. The “Musical Potties” decrease this contrast by bringing an element of fun, a piece of music analogous to the festival itself and even, surprisingly, a social component allowing you somehow to play music on the throne with your “just-as-busy” neighbors. ¡¡¡ Haha !!!
