Week 12 Introduction – Open Learning Environments

Welcome to week 12, and this week’s topic Open Learning Environments (OLEs), prepared by Eva Ziemsen, Julie Kotler, Sophia Barton-Bucknor and Adriana del Paso. One of the principles of an Open Learning Environment is to provide hands-on, concrete experiences with opportunities to manipulate and experiment.

Hence, as the topic of OLEs is so broad, we decided to start with an overview of what an OLE is, and then to walk the talk by experimenting within a virtual environment. We have tried to limit the number of activities so you can fully engage in the few there are and have time to reflect on your learning process and how it relates to your professional context.

Another principle of OLEs is recognizing the role errors play in the learning process, so we invite you to embrace the challenge and join us in this new learning experience. Please visit ETEC Opening Learning Environments 2012.

As it is a challenge to keep up with your own posts and other people’s in two different sites, we have decided to concentrate your replies and posts to the ETEC 522 Blog. The areas where you need to post within the ETEC 522 Blog will be labeled:Interactivity 1A; Interactivity 1B; Interactivity 2A; Interactivity 2B, and Interactivity 3: Reflections, in accordance to their label within our project site.
