CEAB GRADUATE ATTRIBUTE:  ENGINEERING TOOLS

Students graduating with an engineering degree from the University of British Columbia possess an ability to create, select, apply, adapt, and extend appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools to a range of engineering activities, from simple to complex, with an understanding of the associated limitations.

CIVIL ENGINEERING PROGRAM INDICATORS (required by CEAB):

Those graduating with a civil engineering degree will be able to:

  • 5.1:  Retrieve Information – locate, catalogue, and utilize relevant information (including proficiency in accessing, systematically searching, analyzing and evaluating relevant publications);
  • 5.2:  Select Appropriate Tools – select appropriate software, laboratory, or field equipment or techniques to accomplish a civil engineering task;
  • 5.3:  Apply Tools – apply appropriate techniques, tools, or processes to accomplish a civil engineering task;
  • 5.4:  Evaluate Tools – evaluate software, laboratory, or field equipment or techniques to identify their limitations with respect to needs;
  • 5.5:  Adapt Tools – address tool limitations by adapting and extending software, laboratory or field equipment or techniques to accomplish a civil engineering task.
