CEAB GRADUATE ATTRIBUTE: INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM WORK
Students graduating with an engineering degree from the University of British Columbia possess an ability to work effectively as a member and leader in teams, preferably in a multi-disciplinary setting.
CIVIL ENGINEERING PROGRAM INDICATORS (required by CEAB):
Those graduating with a civil engineering degree will be able to:
- 6.1: Constructive Team Attitudes – recognize a variety of working and learning preferences and world-views, and appreciate the value of diversity on a team;
- 6.2: Responsibility – assume responsibility for one’s work and participate equitably in team endeavours;
- 6.3: Leadership – demonstrate capacity for initiative and technical or team leadership while respecting others’ roles;
- 6.4: Resolve Conflicts – apply principles of conflict resolution to resolve team issues and barriers to participatory decision-making;
- 6.5: Evaluate and Improve Team Function – evaluate team effectiveness and plan for improvements.
