Vancouver Institute of Philosophy for Children

Dr. Susan Gardner (Capilano University) and Dr. Barbara Weber (UBC) are the co-directors of the Vancouver Institute for Philosophy for Children (VIP4C). Our goals are: the development of a university curriculum on “Philosophy for Children” (P4C), as well as to integrate this dialogue method into the teacher education programs in BC; the organization of a “National Body of Philosophy for Children” in Canada;

to help organize schools projects and have entire schools use this dialogue method for teaching and conflict resolution; organise local and international conferences; offer workshops, philosophical cafes, and summer institutes. This summer we are organising the Think Fun P4C summer camps for BC youngsters. The Think Fun camps have three themes: Creative Sparks, Curious Critter and Ideas Alive. For more information please contact Susan through the VIP4C website. Please don’t hesitate to contact her!
