A stand-out presentation on the use of GIS in crime analysis was the report given by Hopkinson, Gallipeau, and Wort. Their presentation covered a paper concerning the spatial patterns of body dumping sites by serial killers.

The paper included four hypotheses: three were fundamental ideas (sites around home, bias towards non-criminal activities, range size increases over time) while the fourth was focused on the possibility of domain changes over time (difference in disposal sites over time significant after the fifth victim).

The conclusion was well written, easy to understand, however there was no hot spot analysis or model put together. It was a sensitive subject, but covered very well by the presenter.
