FOLDING PLYWOOD II

by Shannon MacGillivray

A water sports storage facility for Camp Fircom. This project examines the use of timber building materials and parametric design and fabrication tools. This project rejects the assumption that parametric design can only generate “form for the sake of form“. Instead the formal decisions were made based on the storage requirements and dimension of the items that need to be stored in the space. The result is a functional and beautiful structure that fits into the context of the site while pushing the architecture of Camp Fircom and Gambier Island.
