We are delighted to announce that Ashli Akins, Mosqoy founder, will be visiting our SPAN 401 virtual classroom! 

Spanish for Community  is hosting an online English-Spanish translation information session for SPAN 401 students. The presentation, led by Ashli Akins, will provide a Q&A discussion.

Bio: Ashli Akins is a human rights advocate, artist, and social entrepreneur. When she was 21, she founded Mosqoy, after travelling to Central and South America during a year of solo backpacking. From 2006-2016, Ashli acted as Mosqoy’s Executive Director, and now advises the charity’s operations as President of its Board of Directors.

 

Mosqoy is a grassroots organization that works towards global sustainability and resilience by empowering local culture. Working with rural Quechua populations in the Andean mountains of Peru, Mosqoy believes in empowering local communities through international solidarity and networking, sharing stories of celebration, struggle, and strength.
