Common name: Yellow glacier lily; Avalanche lily

Family: Liliaceae

Information: A yellow flowered lily that flowers splendidly early in the spring, and found in more southern BC alpine locations (below about 53 degrees N latitude, though with changing climates its range may begin to extend further north).

Photos: A mesic meadow along the ridgetop in the Manning Park alpine area, about  1930 m altitude. This photos was taken in 2020, a  year of unusually late blooming (by about 2 weeks) due to heavy rains and cool cloudy conditions throughout June and  early July. S Wood – N Hewitt, July 8 2020.
