Module 3 provides the basis for dealing with forest disturbances (pests, fire, etc.) which could be controlled through forest health management (e.g., the gradual recovery of unhealthy forests, sustainable and multi-functions for a healthy forest) so as to allow the new forest to remain healthy. The health of the forest should be considered in the process of forest management, so that biological and abiotic factors will not r threaten forest management objectives. Healthy forest ecosystems must maintain diversity and stability while continuing to meet the forest’s ecological, social and economic needs.
