Hi Usman,

I have reviewed your LinkedIn profile. Your profile is well organized with a clear focus on demonstrating your experience and intention of further advancing yourself in the Sales and Marketing field. The following are some comments and suggestions I have for you to consider.

First Impression
An impressive LinkedIn profile with nearly 250 connections. The profile is organized in a logical order and is optimized for intended audience such as recruiters and prospective employers who often apply the 6-second rule when reviewing applicant profiles.

Profile Intro (profile photo, background image, headline, and contact info)

  • Profile Photo: The profile photo shows a clear image of the individual centered in a blurred background to reduce some background distractions. The profile photo portraits an individual who is friendly and approachable. Instead of looking to the side, I would suggest:
    • looking directly into the camera lens as this helps make a direct connection with the audience.
  • Background Image: The customized background image is simple and does not visually compete with the profile photo. The aesthetic presentation works well to attract readers’ attention.
  • Headline: The headline includes several titles that describe the individual’s capabilities. Industry keywords such as business development, sales specialist, and complete sales solutions help increase the profile visibility in search.
  • Contact info: More than one method of contact is included under Contact Info. In addition, using a customized profile URL not only makes the individual easier to find, but also demonstrates that the individual is detail-oriented and had put in the effort to create an ideal LinkedIn profile. I would suggest:
    • removing the personal website until it is further developed.

About
The profile summary is concise and to the point. The summary includes academic and professional interests and the working philosophy pertaining to the Sales and Marketing field. The summary clearly defines the audience to be Sales and Marketing recruiters and employers, and the summary is written with defined context in mind.

Background (work experience, education, license & certifications, and volunteer experience)

  • Work experience: All listed work experiences include job titles, company names, start dates, end dates and job descriptions. Job descriptions are clear and mostly relevant to the Sales and Marketing field. Impressive relevant work experiences, especially the job achievements listed for the current job. The use of numbers to quantify achievements helps to draw the audiences’ attention.
  • Education: The education section is organized in reverse chronological order and does include academic awards and achievements.
  • No license & certifications, and volunteer experience. This is fine. I believe the combination of profile summary, work experience and education has provided enough background information on the individual.

Skills, Accomplishments, and Interests

  • Skills: The skills & endorsement section includes a total of 31 skills. Of those 31 skills, 10 of them are listed under the Industry Knowledge. The 3 featured skills currently are customer service, science, and English. I would suggest:
    • choosing your top 3 skills from the Industry Knowledge category and pin them so they are featured in your top skills.
  • Accomplishment: The accomplishment section is completed with 4 honors & awards, 3 languages, 2 projects and involvement with one community organization.
  • Interests: The interests section includes influencers from big tech companies and career-relevant organizations. By following these influencers and career-relevant organizations shows the individual does make the effort to stay current in the desired career field.

Writing style and grammar
The profile is composed with a professional tone and is consistent throughout. The writing style is suitable for LinkedIn profile. Industry and career related skills and keywords are supported by listed experiences. I did not find any grammatical errors.

Overall Impression and Final Thoughts
Great job! The LinkedIn profile conveys a focused intention of showcasing experience, qualifications and skills to recruiters and employers in the desired career field.

Here is a list of suggestions for minor edits gathered from various sections above:

  • Update to a profile picture where you look directly into the camera lens
  • Remove personal website if it does not add information or value to your LinkedIn profile. If you are using the personal website to showcase your web development skills, you may want to include a paragraph or two on your personal website.
  • Pin top 3 skills from the Industry Knowledge category

As a new LinkedIn user, I learned a lot from reading your LinkedIn profile. I hope my suggestions are helpful to you. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Thank you,

-Joyce
