TA Position Available – Term 2 FNH 451 001

WORK PERFORMED

  • Using a marking guide, marking the subjective part of the midterm and final exam, evaluating the abstract and oral presentation of research projects, and submitting a breakdown of the verified marks via spreadsheet to the instructor.  Both the midterm and the final include multiple choice, short answer, and integration questions.
  • Invigilating the midterm and final exam.
  • Establishing office hours after the midterm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education:  Knowledge requirements – preference will be given to students who have obtained an undergraduate degree in nutrition, and have a thorough understanding of nutrient metabolism and metabolic regulations, a strong knowledge in biochemistry and physiology, and a good knowledge in the application of molecular biology in nutrition.

Experience:  Preference will be given to students who have the ability to correspond effectively with the instructor, to ask questions when uncertain about their marking responsibilities, and to reliably check their work for accuracy (marking exams, entering data into spreadsheets).

Skills:  Preference will be given to students who have effective written and oral communications skills and who are able to guide students’ research projects, and are able to use Excel.
