TA Position Available – APBI 490 101 Term 1 – TA Position Cancelled

The instructor of APBI 490 101 – Grapevine and Berry Crop Biology is looking for a TA.  This is a Term 1 course, with 40 TA support hours.

Work Performed:

  • Using a detailed marking guide, mark two exams (midterm and final exam), one laboratory/field report, and one two-page report and submit a breakdown of the verified marks via spreadsheet to the Instructor.
  • Assist the instructor in the preparation and performance of the laboratory and field sessions.
  • Invigilate two exams (midterm and final) and two class quizzes.
  • Available to help students with course material for two review sessions prior to each exam.

Qualifications/Skills:

Education and Knowledge Requirements: Preference will be given to students who have obtained an undergraduate degree in Applied Biology, Biology, Botany, Biochemistry, or Genetics and have a thorough understanding of plant physiology, genetics, and molecular biology.

Experience: Preference will be given to students who have the ability to correspond effectively with the Instructor, to ask questions when uncertain about their marking responsibilities, and to reliably check their work for accuracy (marking exams, entering data into spreadsheet). Reliability of the TA is essential.

Skills: Preference will be given to students who are comfortable responding to students’ questions during review sessions and exams.
