I am writing to let you know about three items for the start of the year:

1.     Orientation Meetings for new TAs and Markers:

We are hosting two orientations for new Teaching Assistants and Markers from all departments. Since we will not have contact information for our new members until October, would you please advertise these meetings to your TAs and Markers? Here are the details:

One of the key sources of information at our orientation meetings is our Quick Guide to the Collective Agreement, which is on our web site: Quick Guide to the Collective Agreement

 2.     Allocation of Hours Form

According to Article 12.02 of our Collective Agreement with UBC, an Allocation of Hours Form must be filled out for every TA and Marker. This form (or an equivalent one of your own design) can be used for this purpose. If this link does not work for you, please email me and I will resend it as an attachment.

3.     Dues Deduction Forms

Just a friendly reminder that our office no longer needs to receive the signed dues deduction forms that newly hired TAs fill out. These forms can be kept on file in your department.
