There are many applications for economic valuation of forest ecosystem services, such as benefit cost analysis and natural resource account. In this module, two such applications are highlighted.
This module also highlights three case studies using various valuation method to value different forest ecosystem services. These include valuation of timber resources using the residual value technique, valuation of recreation benefits using the travel cost method, and valuation of protected areas using the contingent valuation method. The idea is to present valuation methods and how the data is structured and analyzed to obtain desired results.
