Module 4 Objectives

By the end of Module 4, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the concepts and theory of utility and welfare measure of human well-being;
2. Differentiate between the consumer and producer surplus;
3. Discuss the need for economic valuation of forest ecosystem services;
4. Differentiate the type of economic values of forest ecosystem services;
5. Explain the framework for conducting economic valuation of forest ecosystem services; and
6. Describe the steps involved in conducting economic valuation of forest ecosystem services.
