Employee ID and Campus Wide Login (CWL)

Page

If your TA position is the first employment appointment at UBC, you may have been contacted by UBC IT or through Workday about linking your Employee ID to your Campus Wide Login.

This is an important step that will allow you to not only access online features such as pay stubs and annual T4’s, but it also will allow us to grant you access to Canvas (for online course material), Faculty Service Centre (for class lists and to upload grades) and the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SEOT) system.

How to link an Employee or Student Number to your CWL account

Any CWL Account holder can add an Employee and/or Student Number to their CWL account.
Valid Employee or Student Numbers and related passwords are necessary.

Go to this UBC IT page: https://it.ubc.ca/services/accounts-passwords/campus-wide-login-cwl/campus-wide-login-faqs by copying and pasting the link information into your browser window.

(If this link should be outdated, do a browser search for topics such as “UBC IT link CWL with Employee ID”.)

Scroll down to “Affiliate Employee/Student Number in CWL myAccount”, and follow the link found in the answer to: Where Can I add and Employee or Student Number to my CWL Account?

If you are having Canvas access issues, such as being dropped from your access, and linking your CWL and UBC Employee ID does not resolve the access issue, please  contact LFS Learning Centre for help.

Let them know you have just linked your CWL & Employee no. as UBC IT instructs.
You may have to wait while the UBC system refreshes overnight for your linking to be effective.

Important –  maintain your existing CWL. DO NOT create a new CWL, as this may cause you access issues.
