Employee ID and Campus Wide Login (CWL)


If your TA position is the first employment appointment at UBC, you will receive an email with instructions for linking your Employee ID to your Campus Wide Login.

This is an important step that will allow you to not only access online features such as paystubs and annual T4’s, but it also will allow us to grant you access to Canvas (for online course material), Faculty Service Centre (for class lists and to upload grades) and the Student Evaluation of Teaching (SEOT) system.


Once you receive this email, please contact Virginia Frankian, Academic Coordinator  (UBC-LFS TA Application@ubc.ca).  She will provide you with your Employee ID and CWL Sign Up PIN.  Once you have linked your Employee ID and CWL, please confirm this with Virginia by email.

How to add an Employee or Student Number to your CWL account

Any CWL Account holder can add an Employee and/or Student Number to their CWL account.
Valid Employee or Student Numbers and related passwords are necessary.

  1. Log in to CWL myAccount.
  2. Click Add Employee or Student Number.
  3. The Add Employee or Student Number page displays current Student and Employee Numbers (if any) are already affiliated with the CWL account.
  4. Select Affiliation Type (i.e., student or employee)
  5. For student, enter Student Number and SSC Password.
    For employee, enter Employee Number, Date of Birth, and CWL Sign Up PIN.
  6. Click Add.

Select the “employee” option.  If you do not know your employee ID or CWL Sign Up PIN, send an email to UBC-LFS TA Application to request it.

Important –  maintain your existing CWL. DO NOT create a new CWL, as this may cause you access issues.
