Mullein in Stanley Park

I am not sure what species of Verbascum this is, but it was really lovely!  Even though the Scrophulariaceae has recently undergone a major downsizing Verbascum remains within the family.

The flowers have 5 stamen.  Two are long, but the other three are hairy (lots of mullein have this feature).

Even though the day was chilly there were a few bees collecting pollen.  Check out the cool pollen sacs on this bee.

Off to another flower!
