Search Strategies:

  • “” phrase searching  e.g. “climate change”
  • Think of synonyms for your concepts and join them with the Boolean operators OR  e.g. “climate change” OR “global warming”
  • Broaden your search with Truncation/wild card *  e.g. forest* = forest, forests, forestry, etc.
  • Filters for content type: articles, books, review paper etc
  • Snowballing- references list at bottom paper, following up those papers
  • Search by the scientific name as well as the common name e.g. “pine beetles” OR “Dendroctonus ponderosae”
