I have reviewed the first draft of your assignment 1.3. Overall, you have offered excellent explanation for the term “ Machine Learning”. Your draft is well-written and well-structured. I would like to offer the following suggestions:
Your parenthetical definition is clear, but almost identical to your sentence definition. I would suggest you to look at page 406 (Chapter 17) of our textbook, and see the difference between sentence definition and parenthetical definition. In my interpretation of our textbook, I see parenthetical definition as an additional information to the sentence definition. This page is extremely useful, I suggest you to look into it.
I have concerns about your sentence definition as well. “ Machine learning is a field of Computer science that teaches computer program”, do you mea “ teaches computer program to learn from experiences?” I think you are missing a “ to” in your sentence, but I am not an expert in English writing, feel free to consult others.
As for you expanded definition, I believe we need to structure our expanded definition using “Question and Answer” structure. Look at page 406 if you want, it gives you instructions on how to format your expanded definitions.
I do appreciate the effort of presenting the history and the steps of “Machine Learning”, however, I think you need to conclude your “ Etymology and Description and Operating Principle” as part of your Expanded definition. It appeared to me that they are separate entities, you may want to change that.
