First Impressions:
- All relevant sections are present and the candidate has done an excellent job of using bullet points. Upon first, reading there does not seem to be any gaps in information
Quality and Appropriateness of Profile Picture:
- Considering that the profile is aimed at pursuing a career in Software Development the choice of attire for his profile picture is perfectly appropriate.
- The background is neutral and has no distractions. In fact the colour of the wall helps to compliment the professional feel
Content:
Headline
- Great job of indicating professional aspirations as well as current field of study.
- Adding words such as aspiring, determined or including a hobby, helps give a more personal touch to your headline
Summary
- The first line is incredibly informative and to the point. However, a unique hook helps give the reader a reason to read more.
- An excellent job of explicitly stating skills and qualifications and supporting them with evidence.
- Experiences are supported with reasons why an employer should care.
- Plenty of Industry language to help the profile be more searchable.
Education
- Due to extensive experience on the profile, I understand why the education section does not have much in it. However, the profile would benefit by adding the degrees that have been earned.
- Adding some course names and codes from the most recent educational undertaking at UBC would also help.
Experience/Projects/Volunteering
- Good job of starting with results, however try and use more specific or more quantifiable results.
- In addition, some bullet points have been started with the actions instead of the result. For example. “Built React components and wrote Redux actions and reducers to manage client-side state.” This can be made more result orientated by saying. “Managed client-side state by building React components and writing Redux actions and reducers.”
- Great job in explaining roles and duties in past job experiences as well as what lessons or skills that have been learned from them
- Your listing method was consistent.
Social Engagement
- 417 connections manifest a strong social base however the profile has not received any recommendations. Although you have a good number of endorsements on important skills a few recommendations would really add to your profile
Comprehensibility
- They were were no obvious grammar mistakes or spelling errors.
Overall Impressions:
- A clear case had been made as to why employing you would benefit a company or business. The numbering system you employed especially stood out.
