Subject: Writing With You – Peer Review of Memo to Evan Crisp
Thank you for posting the memo to Evan Crisp. It is an excellent compilation of advice on some practices and is very clear and concise. Below are a few comments and some suggestions that may be useful in improving the memo:
Organization:
- It is easy to read and well organized with bullet points and the objective of each statement is clear and helpful
- Expanding on some information with a few examples here and there may prompt the student in the right direction more
- Such as, showing an example of a possible subject title in the first bullet point
- Bolding the main points can be more eye catching and show what topic is
- For example, “Addressing the recipient by title and name at the beginning of the email”
Grammar & Spelling:
- There are no grammar or spelling mistakes
Writing Style:
- Clear use of the YOU attitude
- The writing is courteous and professional
- The tone is neutral with positive undertones throughout
Conclusion:
It is an effective memo and is well formatted, direct and utilizes the YOU attitude. To summarize:
- Expanding on some pointers with examples may be helpful to the reader
- Clarifying the main topic by bolding it or in another way draws the readers attention more to the importance of it
