Subject: Best Practices for professional networking on LinkedIn

As requested in Unit 2: 2 assignment, I am here to share with you my research on the best practices for LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a place for recruiters to list jobs and a place for professionals to put their resume online. LinkedIn is the biggest business networking platform in the world, currently, it has over 690 million business professionals.

Upon my research, I have concluded the following list of best practices for LinkedIn:

1. Post a professional photo or yourself. Look smart and confident.
2. Add a cover image to your profile, you should choose the one that will reflect your good personality and your profession.
3. Briefly introduce yourself in the profile. The introduction needs to be concise and clear.
4. State your past job experiences (if any), and your current position in your domain.
5. Add your education details in your profile, preferably four sentences to sum up your education background
6. Illustrate your hobbies, some personal information of yourself, to let others know more about what kind of person you are.
7. Create a social network with other LinkedIn users, build connections in your industry, make contacts, and share experiences.
8. Use LinkedIn groups, but promoting your companies’ products is not allowed, you will be removed from LinkedIn groups if you do so.
9. Use LinkedIn search facility effectively, you can learn your potential employer through the search engine.
10. Create a page for your company if you are the CEO, increase the visibility of your business, design your page properly, professional, and visually appealing to customers, potential employees, and business partners.

LinkedIn is a professional networking site that facilitates connections with professionals from all over the world. Carefully and strategically use this tool will boost your professional image and help your career.
