Here are a few notes as the conference draws closer

Registration begins on Thursday June 16 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the St. Paul’s Hospital Conference Centre. The registration desk is also open on Saturday June 17 from 8:00 am.

Directions to the Conference Centre: You will find the Conference Centre on the first floor of St. Paul’s Hospital Providence Building. From the main hospital entrance — off Burrard Street — turn left and follow the blue line to a set of elevators and small flight of stairs. You will pass the gift shop on your left and then an ATM on your right. The elevator and stairs will be straight ahead. Once you reach the elevators go down one floor then turn right – you will walk down a long corridor then bear right and turn left. You will then easily find us at the end of the hallway!

The Opening Panel begins at 5:00 pm in the Lecture Hall in the Conference Centre.

Optional Historical Tour of St. Paul’s Hospital (3:00 pm): Prior to the panel, during registration on Thursday June 16, you are invited to take a tour of some historical features at St. Paul’s Hospital. The tour will run twice during registration. The first tour will leave from the conference registration desk at 3:00 pm, and the second will leave at 3:30 pm. The whole tour will last 30-40 minutes, allowing plenty of time for you to return to the conference centre for the opening panel at 5:00 pm.

Optional Self-Guided Tour: Independently visit historic nursing sites throughout the City of Vancouver. For information about these sites please see “Explore Nursing History through Vancouver Architecture and Monuments” prepared by Lydia Wytenbroek on behalf of the British Columbia History of Nursing Society.

Parking: Flat rate parking is available on Thursday June 16 at the Century Plaza Hotel Parkade. Enter the Parkade on Comox Street from Burrard Street.
