If anyone wants to come see me (and the rest of the UBC Symphony Orchestra) play, there is a concert this Friday that I am playing in! Here are the details:
Date: Friday, March 15, 2013
Time: 8 pm
Location: The Chan Centre
Works by Vaughan Williams, Beethoven, and Elgar
I’m playing in the Vaughan Williams piece, Serenade to Music. It is an absolutely gorgeous piece and the choir sings in it too! You should definitely come check it out :)
That's me! I'm a fourth year, introverted, Winnipeg-hailing, blog-writing, cookie-eating, harp-playing, yoga-doing, blanket-knitting music student at UBC. I'm always trekking around campus in my Pumas and massive black backpack, and if you spot me, come say hi! It would be nice to know someone actually reads these things!
I left a comment on facebook but will repeat here that I have seldom enjoyed an orchestra’s performance as much as this one. I am a retired band and choir teacher and we attend concerts frequently, but there was something about your performance that left me elated. You and your classmates (opera ensemble as well) have outstanding technical skills (in my opinion, professional level) but more than that – so much heart! We sat in the front row and I could barely stay in my seat. Thank you for an evening that still brings shivers of pleasure.
