Challenge: Addressing poaching in conservation areas through livelihood programs

Poaching can be a conflictual problem in conservation in the developing world with often violent outcomes. To address the poaching problem an alternative program can be set up (for example tour guides) for the poachers to make an income and no longer need the additional food or income from poaching.
