Kelly Sharp

Kelly is an MA student working under the supervision of Dr. Philippe Le Billon and Dr. Hisham Zerriffi. Her regional focus is Sub-Saharan Africa, where she is interested in the perceptions and participation of local populations in internationally driven conservation initiatives. For her thesis she is planning to examine how resettlement strategies have impacted food security and nutrition in Malawi. Kelly has a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Development Studies from McGill University; the highlight of her degree was the semester she spent abroad on the Canadian Field Studies in Africa program. Kelly is also a Bridge Fellow which has enabled her to increase her involvement in public health and policy research. Her international work experience has taken her to Ghana, Kenya, Malawi and Uganda.
