Although cookstoves can provide a number of benefits including promoting positive environmental, health and development outcome the distribution of improved cookstoves have come across a number of challenges. These challenges include end users with no or little income, stoves not appropriate designed or maintained for the users needs and poor awareness building to promote the use of such stoves. This development challenge would be to develop a new innovative business model which would achieve effective long term distribution and use of ‘improved’ cookstoves in one specific study area.
