A Bit lost

Hello

I think the idea of looking ahead is important with these assignment dates quickly emerging.

1. I am not able to find an outline for the upcoming assignments 1 and 2 on the blog site.

2. I have the names of the group members but do not see the email addresses for beginning our group collaboration.

Thank you

Mark

Hello fellow learning venture students and learning facilitators. This is my eighth MET course and the end is in sight but I do not find myself in a hurry to end this experience other then the timeline as I feel this is a lifelong learning development. I continue to be optimistic that I will be able to integrate the experiences I have had in the MET program to meet and motivate the increasingly diverse learning needs of my students. My main challenge continues to be finding time to develop my skills but then again who doesn't. I live on Vancouver Island in a place called Mill Bay and I teach courses at the secondary school in Duncan. Currently they are Sci and Tech 11, First Nations 12, Planning 10 and remedial math. I look forward to working with you all through this course.

Hi Mark,

The email addresses of my group were emailed to me by David Porter – you may want to check in with him if you have not found them. Outlines for the assignments are under the Course Requirements and Course Schedule links on the left hand side of the blog

Thanks, Cindy –

And Mark, don’t hesitate as well to email either of your instructors directly if you have a question about the course. You should have received several days ago a direct email with the names of all your module group members. Dive in!

Mark,

Also try viewing this blog with a different browser, or hitting refresh if it seems like there’s something missing. I had a frustrating evening on Monday looking for the pitches that people were commenting on, they were nowhere to be found. Next morning at work I took another look, and there they were, only the browser and the computer were different, I had been looking on the correct page.

Dear Davids,

I am with Mark; I cannot find the outlines for assignments 1 and 3. As far as the pitches go, I am not finding them myself. Are they under module 2 for this week?

I’m feeling a bit in the dark about Assignment #1. We have already posted views of various companies using the Cube. I’m assuming that this was an excercise designed to prepare us for assignment #1? Are there exemplars that we can see? Is there a list of suggested ventures that we should consider using for Assignment #1? Sorry but I need more details/help.

Thanks for asking, Ed. I’m also feeling a bit lost about Assignment #1. To be honest, I’m not really even sure where to start. I’ve already read the instructions for the assignments but some more direction would certainly be helpful.

Thanks,

Ernie

Hi everyone –

If you have specific questions about A1 please email me directly.

A1 is designed to enable you to go into a deeper, more comprehensive analysis of a specific venture or market than is considered in any of your activities for M2 and M3. You don’t have to use the CUBE – that’s only one analysis framework – we’d prefer you to use whatever analysis approach enables you to deconstruct and credibly describe the business environment and viability of your subject.

How deep? How comprehensive? One way to look at it, as I recently described to another student, is imagine that your best friend has just announced that they want to invest $5M in a certain learning technologies company, and that they’d like your expert opinion as to whether that is a wise investment. It’s not about the length of your answer, its about how well grounded it is in good research and objective reflection.

Hope this helps…
