Satnam Singh Sangra

Satnam Singh Sangra is a teacher at New Westminster Secondary School and an Instructor in the Faculty of Academic and Career Preparation at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He received his B.Sc. and B.Ed. from Simon Fraser University and his M.Ed. from the University of British Columbia. Satnam has authored several articles on Sikh issues ranging from human rights to the history of the Sikhs in Canada. His work has been widely circulated in print and social media. Satnam is also involved in Reconciliation activities in his community. He instituted the historic Indigenous welcome by the Kwantlen First Nation at the Surrey Vasakhi Nagar Kirtan in 2018 which has become an annual tradition. In his spare time Satnam enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading and learning more about the history of his people – the Sikhs – in Canada. Satnam currently resides in New Westminster with his wife and three children.
