Parminder Swaich

Parminder Swaich has worked as an artist, playwright, and director since her college days. She is also a progressive activist in the community, poet, short-story writer, and essayist. In her written works, she has written about serious issues in Canadian life, such as drug problems, broken relationships, the decline in social and cultural values, political duplicity, cheating by astrologers and religious figures, consumer culture, the difficulties in the lives of migrants, and other economic, social, political, and historical subjects. Her two books of poetry and three plays have been published. In addition to these, she has forthcoming books of prose, stories, plays, and poems. Right now, in 2023, she is the President of the Rationalist Society of Canada. She is the Director of the “Shahid Bhagat Singh Memorial Society” and the “Progressive Art Club.” She is a member of the East Indian Defense Committee, the Shahid Mewa Singh Sports and Cultural Society, the Punjabi Writers Forum the Literature Association (Sahit Sabha) of Surrey, the Kalami Parvaz Manch, the Central Punjabi Writer’s Union North America, the Sangam Sisters, the Progressive Women’s Association, and other groups.
